is a very rare issue copy of a single by Brian Lord & The Midnighters: ''The Big Surfer'' b/w ''Not Another One!'' (Capitol 4981). Released in May, 1963.
Frank Zappa wrote ''The Big Surfer'' and co-produced it with his one-time collaborator, Paul Buff (the two of them ran the Pal Studio in Cucamonga, California). This was a few years before Zappa founded The Mothers of Invention. The song, a John F. Kennedy/surf parody, was first issued on the Vigah label. Capitol picked it up, hoping to cash in on its novelty potential. Unfortunately, Medgar Evers, who is mentioned in the song, was killed only a short time after Capitol released it. They quite rightly declined to promote the single.
Record is in strong VG condition. Some label wear, some scuffs, but lots of shine and plays strong through noise. Comes in original Capitol factory sleeve.
